I had never been intrested in GI Joe since it never seemed that exciting next to, I dont know. Transformers. Also it gave me the impression of being military propaganda(which I was right about). But hey; every popular IP becomes propaganda in one way or another, espically when it comes to serises targeted at kids. Anyway, GI Joe had been a dead IP for the most part before I was even born and still kinda is.(but for some reason there's still more GI Joe toys than transformers toys in stores...) All this to say I've been reading Void Rivals and Transformers, but ignoring the 3rd story in the Energon Universe. Once I realized how connected they are, I knew had to read GI Joe.

Issues 1-8

Okay so it's really good.. I like clutch and baroness they're tuff. Overall I think these first 8 issues do a great job of balancing exposition and understand, and mystery.

Issue 1:

omg I totally forgot about Starscream killing that joe guy. Appearntly he was Duke's friend and now he hates robots. anyway crazy that someone dies in the FIRST issue.

Issue 2:

Okay this issue is fine, just continuing last issue really. Clutch is awesome btw and Risk is not as bad as Duke says imo. Baroness proves she's a good guy now by saving a joe and that's really it I guess. Clutch and rock n roll are dead tho. JK clutch is alive and in Cobra's headquaters because he's #awesome. Good cliffhanger I like it.

Issue 3:

when cobra commmander said there was an infiltratior and their midst I really thought they got Clutch's ass but nah it was someone else he was talking about. meanwhile Duke and Risk fight like little boys back at headquaters. good issue- WHO THE HELL ARE THE TWINS IM CRINE BRO. Joes got ambushed by two identical blond boys come on LMAO

Issue 4:

eh this issue was okay. It did it's job n stuff. clutch escaped cobra while the rest of the joes got captured by them #okay

Issue 5:

rippper my goat. anyway joes fight their wway out with the help clutch and duke captures??? cobra commander

Issue 6:

some shit happened but only thing thatt matter is Cluth met Hound!!!!

Issue 6 1/2:

yaya clucth and hound happy times yay

Issue 7:

Random ass side plot but it was entertaining so it was okay. What was not okay was the introduction of a group of vigalante joes at the end because it was cheesy as hell

Issue 8:

Cover Girl and Baroness go on a girls trip to Paris and they become friends!! So cute yay. oh and they're being stalked by a freaky bird man.

Issues 9-16

Issue 9:

Clutch too busy yaoing it with hound that the other joes are getting suspicous. Meanwhile Baroness and Cover Girl try to ward off birds from the bird guy so they can protect baroness' parents. They get caught by a predator(major bludd- gosh his name is stupid) whom I hate and wake up in a pit together. Bee tee dubs this is one of my favorite issues because major bludd is like "you two have to fight to death or ill kill you and your parents" and baroness is like "NO! NEITHER. LET US OUT". Then cover girl is like: "nah bro we're fighting. sorry pal" and then she stabs baroness. peak yuri actually holy shit. brain blast.

Issue 10:

Baroness and Cover girl fight and its so awesome and then baroness kills cver girl. but its okay because it was a trick and now they're sneakly about to kill major bludd #yuri #gl #wlw Cluth and hound are still exploring and risk shows up because he thinks clutch is a traitor.

Issue 11:

major bludd continues to be a weirdo freak-creep while baroness and himself fight. I actually hate him; baroness please kill this guy now. In the sewers, cover girl is on her way to kill the bird guy from issue 9 who's been stalking baroness' parents. bludd tries to convince baroness that cover girl abondoned her evil ass but baroness knows that's not true because cover girl is the goat. THEN Baroness stabs his other eye and radios the biird guy on bludd's radio only to hear cover girl on the other end being like: "ya girl your parents R safe. ily" This s the end of the yuri arc sadly but we(as in probably just me) will keep their love alive through fan art and fanfictions <3

Issue 12:

Sick ass issue. Another random side plot with some new side characters. Probably one of my favorite isssues. Some joes are tasked with getting a girl named Shooter out of prision but she refuses to leave without completing her misson and killing some dude. While she's on the snowmoble with the joes, she makes a crazy ass shot like its some Wanted shit.

Issue 13:

Entertaining arc coming right up. Duke and Cobra Commander both go to the same spot and also Ripper(ily ripper) betrays cobra commander. Stupid Destros thinks he's the new leader now cuz he thinks cobra commander is dead.

Issue 14:

Duke and cobra commander work together to fight against some dreadnoks and ripper reunites with his family how heart warming. pig guy. what.

Issue 15:

duke, cobra commander and dreadnoks get terroiized by the pig dude. Duke and cobra commander get captured and chained up in a torture chamber; they have a heart to heart(they're best enemies <3) The rest of the joes realize somethings wrong and go to find daddy duke.

Issue 16:

buzzer dies this issue. duke gets saved too or whatever but buzzer dies and thats not okay.

Issues 17-25

Issue 17:

dreadnoks start working for cobra even though he nearly murdered buzzer. they fight the joes and clutch has to intervene with hound cuz the joes are gettng their asses handed to them. Duke is NOT happy and punches clutch in the face

Issue 18:

Random ass side plot comence. As out of no where as these feel, I enjoy these issues cuz it kinda gives you a break after they tie up a plot line with the main joes. We meet this dude whose retired named Marvin but for some reason the evil blond twink twins start going after him and he's having NONE of that. in cobra hq cobra commander returns and destro pretends to be all innocent like he wasn't trying to take over just a day ago. Cobra Commander is none the wiser until he sees the video from Major Chudd showing Destros telling Ripper to kill Cobra Commander.

Issue 19:

Duke hates hound and now clutch rip. the gang hangouts without them while hound and clutch sit in confinment and Duke interogates them. Hound spills the beans about the war and stuff and Duke is like "oh okay yeah alright can I meet optimus prime? " and hound is like its broken and then clutch says they can't fix it unless they get help from the guy who never gets found. FLASH to trakker who i could care less about honestly. the guy he was meeting with gets burned into ash by some bounty hunter who isnt even going after the guy he just killed, he's after trakker??

Issue 20:

This is a must read post Transformers issue 30 just saying. If you don't read any of GI Joe, at least read this one. Trakker and the bounty hunter duke it out before Duke(the guy) and clutch show up to save him. They get him to fix the comm device and ring up the Big OP. Then Duke and OP have a nice little chat about life and war(this is post Elita taking the Matrix so he's more solmen then usual).

Issue 21:

I like this one a lot. an undercover joe is in Japan and both Cover Girl and the cobras go to retrieve her but they kind of muck everything up and Scalet(the undercover joe)'s friends get left behind and she's rghtfully pissed about it. Good issue me likey. Made me care about Scarlett and her friends in just a few pages so I could feel fustrated and sad when they were wounded and left behind by the joes. I mean Scarlett is basically taken against her will, kicking and screaming. Love it!
